Mine Facts© is an interactive database program developed by the U.S. Department of Defense. Mine Facts© contains information and graphics on over 675 landmines from around the world. Mine Facts is now part of ORDATA II Online  available  here.

The ORDATA Online development effort consisted in converting how the data was presented to you the user. The data used in ORDATA II and ORDATA Online is the same. The images that are used in the ORDATA II application are the same images in ORDATA Online.

What changed was that now the data from ORDATA II can be found on the Internet - in a web site format. The ORDATA Online web site also took advantage of the tools of the internet to provide an updated look and feel. This makes the tool easier to use, does not require no you the user to have a particular kind of computer, and allows the ORDATA II data to be available to a wider audience!

So, with that, please let us know what you think of the next generation of the ORDATA application!!

  • Course Training Objectives

The Mine Awareness Course is designed to train participants in the safe and effective detection, removal, and disposal of landmines and other unexploded ordnance. Each period of instruction will be presented to the trainees by one of the Trainers, and under the direct supervision of the Senior Instructor as scheduled. Each period of instruction will be conducted employing course specific lesson plans, trainee guides and instructional media materials ( actual inert mine and munition items, video tapes, slides, job sheets, information sheets, transparencies, etc.). The primary learning methods will be hands-on practical training and exercises in conjunction with short classroom lectures.

    Mine Awareness Course

      I. Scope

The Mine Awareness Course is a one (1) day eight (8) lesson program, structured for a minimum of ten (10) students at the Louisiana State Police Training Academy and Explosive Range in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and at Explotech's Minefield Training Site. This course is taught by instructors who possess extensive field operations experience in the international theater of clearance and training operations. Students will learn and demonstrate the general safety precautions and proper techniques for safe and effective landmine/unexploded ordnance clearance. At the completion of all training, students will plan and conduct a realistic mine and ordnance clearance exercise that covers all aspects of the training presented.
